Where is Chorley?

Chorley council news page

We are at the centre of the North West – in fact if you drew a circle we’d be bang in the centre, and we're a city gateway to Manchester, Liverpool and Preston at the heart of teh Northern Powerhouse.

We’re situated right on the M61, M6 and M65 motorways with easy access to the West Coast mainline, airports at Manchester and Liverpool and the docks on the River Mersey – the perfect city gateway.
We’re bordered by Preston to the north and Blackburn to the east, with Wigan and Bolton to the south, and Blackpool and Southport towards the coast. Major cities Manchester and Liverpool are just over half an hour away offering easy access, while benefitting from the advantages of Lancashire.

It’s not only the transport links that set us apart – we are on the edge of the West Pennine Moors with beautiful scenery and countryside, just a short drive from the Lancashire coastline and the Leeds-Liverpool canal passes through providing a reminder of the borough’s industrial heritage. Chorley also won a special award at the Britain in Bloom competition after wowing judges with its brilliant displays. This has led to a brand new Chorley Flower Show, which attracted 13,000 visitors from all over the country in 2016, winning a prestigious regional tourism award.

We have the ideal mix of brilliant transport links and access to the major North West cities without your workforce having to spend their time being stuck in the congestion on the way into work.

Chorley is a win, win location with the customer, consumer and sustainability at the heart of what we offer.
